Our PBL challenges!

Our PBL Challenges!

For our PBL pour focus is "How can we use innovation to improve our lives" So our teacher thought we could do Mini challenges, so each home base had an activity. Our home base had to create a boat that will stand on water and the teacher puts marbles on the boat to see how many marbles it would hold--The one that held the most marbles -WON.

We had to make the boat with:
  • Tin foil
  • Straws
  • Plastic cups
  • Tape
I was in a good group we created it with tin foil as the base (obviously we had to use a lot of tin foil to get the boast structures and stable) Then we used the tape to form the boat and to get the tin foil base stay together.
We used the straws as decorations at the front of the boat.
This is our picture:

Sadly we did not win. But we can 3rd I'm happy with what we made it went REALLY well.
Next time I would made The walls of the boat much higher. Because the walls on the boat is kind-of what let us down.

In-conclusion: I really enjoyed making it, It was really fun to do I hope we can do something more like this again!.

Question: Have you made anything similar or done anything similar?
If you have please share your answer in the comments

Our article reading's about climate change

In reading this term our focus has been looking at articles  around climate change.

I have learned that: Methane gas and carbon dioxide Cause climate change and we cause those gasses so we are the cause for climate change.

New words I have discovered are:

  • Smog (it's a toxic form of fog)
  • Ozone (Form of gas. It is high up in the atmosphere)
  • Bauxite (Its used to make a light, A strong metal called aluminium)

I have even made a poster about climate change

No challenge is a greater threat to future generations than climate change.
---President Obama.

Question time: Do you understand the meaning of climate change?
