Our math boards

Math boards

For math we do these things called math boards.
Another week of school means another math board to complete. Math boards are things we do on google slides. Our teachers give us a list of questions on our hub site we chose one question and work it out on google slides
the question in kinda easy so I can show it easily.
3 times 30 I knew the answer straight away because 3 threes are nice but just add a zero or another way 10 + 10 + 10 = 30.

Question time!
Do you do math boards at your school or at least something similar?
if you do please share in the comments

Thanks for reading!

Our PBL challenges!

Our PBL Challenges!

For our PBL pour focus is "How can we use innovation to improve our lives" So our teacher thought we could do Mini challenges, so each home base had an activity. Our home base had to create a boat that will stand on water and the teacher puts marbles on the boat to see how many marbles it would hold--The one that held the most marbles -WON.

We had to make the boat with:
  • Tin foil
  • Straws
  • Plastic cups
  • Tape
I was in a good group we created it with tin foil as the base (obviously we had to use a lot of tin foil to get the boast structures and stable) Then we used the tape to form the boat and to get the tin foil base stay together.
We used the straws as decorations at the front of the boat.
This is our picture:

Sadly we did not win. But we can 3rd I'm happy with what we made it went REALLY well.
Next time I would made The walls of the boat much higher. Because the walls on the boat is kind-of what let us down.

In-conclusion: I really enjoyed making it, It was really fun to do I hope we can do something more like this again!.

Question: Have you made anything similar or done anything similar?
If you have please share your answer in the comments

Our article reading's about climate change

In reading this term our focus has been looking at articles  around climate change.

I have learned that: Methane gas and carbon dioxide Cause climate change and we cause those gasses so we are the cause for climate change.

New words I have discovered are:

  • Smog (it's a toxic form of fog)
  • Ozone (Form of gas. It is high up in the atmosphere)
  • Bauxite (Its used to make a light, A strong metal called aluminium)

I have even made a poster about climate change

No challenge is a greater threat to future generations than climate change.
---President Obama.

Question time: Do you understand the meaning of climate change?

climate change hurts animals

Climate change

Climate change is caused by carbon dioxide, Nitrouse, Methane gas and more... It lets the sun come in to warn up the earth but it doesn't let it back of either. the climate change is rising and rising each year

Ava launches of snow and ice can fall on the animals! is sad and it is caused by us!

ANIMALS DON'T HAVE A VOICE WE HAVE GOT TO SPEAK FOR THEM

tell us if you are doing anything in anyway to try and stop climate change?

Cross Country run!

Cross country Run!    🏃🏃🏃

We were Getting ready to walk down to Walter park. Because our school is right down the road from it. I was lining up with my friend, Grace and we walked down to the park we were last to race it went Seniors juniors then us! therefor we had to wait 2 or 1 hour's I was playing a game with my group of friends

the time came to race we were at the starting line.

''ON YOUR MARKS...''there was a long amount of a wait which made me get the butterflies                    ''GO!'' Honestly i'd say I had a pretty good start I was up the front  But I remembered last year that you shouldn't burn off at the start and lose all your energy. so I jogged the WHOLE THING NOT STOPPING ONCE! I was so proud of  myself

in the end I came 5th and That means I made it into zone's because its the top 6 that get into zones!

Kindness has sprung in to action!!!

❤ KINDNESS for PBL in my hub! ❤

We created and Action plan and It went very smooth sailing.
We had It rough at the start and we wanted to do a bake sale but out teacher's said we can't do things then make people pay us money for it because remember, ..... KINDNESS IS FREE!!!

For our final product we did A FUN ZONE
What is the fun zone?

well...it is when five students from each hub get to go to fun activities if they have been kind and respectful---and just well behaved.

they get a ticket and then they go to the front court to play! (only if their kind though)

How did our action build a sense of community?
It is rewarding those who have been respectful! (so they don't feel like being good is a waste of time) and I also met new people.

I contributed by...

Well..I actually came up with the idea of the fun zone. I also helped come up with the date and organised where it would be held.  On the day, I ran the sniffing game and people loved it! The sniffing game is where you blind for them, hold something up for them to smell and they have to guess what it is.

I think the PBL might impact on other by
Maybe the people that got to do it will come up with a idea to help someone else #paying kindness forward

What I learned about working with people is...

Don't raise your voice and try to let everyone have a say in things 💬

Thank you for reading
what activities would you do if you runned this?
Do you think the idea was good
